I would like to thank each player, parent, manager and coach who committed their time to four games this weekend. The experience of those four games for each team helped us take a huge step forward as a club. As I did my rounds from field to field I was really pleased to see our teams trying to play good soccer and having fun in the process.
This was by far the most successful weekend we have ever had as a club with 4 teams finishing as Champions; Gunners U9 Boys, Milan U10 Boys, Heat U9 Girls and Spirit U10 Girls. The Arsenal U10 Boys and Pride U11 girls both finished tied in first place on points but missed out on the title by tie-breakers.
The club finished with an overall record of 24-9-7, very impressive!
The U9 Gunners Boys tied both games on Saturday and saved their best soccer to Sunday when they won both games to finish as Champions.
The U9 Madrid Boys finished with a record of 3-1-0 leaving them just one point short of first place. They finished strong with a 6-1 win over West Hartford, playing with just 7 players the whole game.
The U9 Heat Girls proved to be a tough nut to crack, not giving up a goal in the entire tournament. They scored 14 and won all 4 games to be crowned Champions.
The U9 Blaze Girls played some very tough competition in their division. Despite losing the first three games, they kept their spirits up and improved with each game to win their final game 1-0.
The U10 Arsenal boys were extremely competitive in the highest division of the tournament, taking a 3-0 record into the final game. After a hard fought game they narrowly lost 2-1 to Oakwood Premier who finished a Champions on the head to head rule. Arsenal finished in second place which is very respectable considering the level of competition.
The U10 Milan Boys won 3 and tied 1 game to finish as undefeated Champions. In game three they were three goals down but showed great character to come back to 3-3 and take an important point from the game.

The U10 Spirit Girls played some great soccer to finish with a perfect 4-0 record and finish as Champions.
The U11 Dynamo Boys showed fighting spirit in their first match to score late and tie the game. They won game 3 with a good performance but couldn't quite pull off a win in the final game to secure 3rd place.
The U11 Pride Girls had just one slip up on Sunday morning to blemish an otherwise perfect record. Despite finding it hard to hit the back of the net in the first three games they won their final game by several goals to finish tied on points in 1st place.
The U11 Power girls showed incredible defense to not give up a goal in the first three games. Unfortunately, they found it difficult to score and tied all three games 0-0.
Congratulations to all teams.
